Evans Residence
Transforming a Centre Wellington Property into a Garden Oasis
In the summer of 2008, Wellington Landscapes Consulting & Construction embarked on a transformative project in southern Centre Wellington, near Elora, Ontario. The Evans family envisioned their property as a serene garden oasis, and we were honored to bring that vision to life.

Function & Structure
Our team meticulously crafted a landscape that seamlessly blended natural beauty with structural elegance. We constructed a winding natural stone staircase that gracefully navigated the property’s contours, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Wooden arbors and gazebos were strategically placed to offer shaded retreats and focal points throughout the garden.

Multi Tiered Retaining Wall Gardens
To manage the varying elevations, we built multi-tiered retaining wall gardens, which not only stabilized the terrain but also created distinct planting areas. These terraces were softened with lush plantings, incorporating hundreds of diverse species to ensure year-round interest and color. In total, over 300 tonnes of rock and two tractor-trailer loads of plants were utilized to achieve the desired effect.

Waterfall Feature
A crowning feature, a 15-foot waterfall was added at the last minute, positioned to be visible from the Evans’ back window. This dynamic water feature introduced the soothing sound of cascading water, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere of the garden.

Hardscaping & Garden Combination
The result was a harmonious blend of hardscape and softscape elements, creating a private sanctuary that the Evans family could enjoy for years to come.
